We are looking for a talented Refrigeration Technician who will be responsible for using schematics to lay out and install mechanical components, braze and solder piping, perform leak and vacuum testing, and charge systems with refrigerant. Additional work will be done on refrigeration systems and other process fluid loops for walk-in freezers, environmental rooms, automotive test benches, calorimeters and other equipment primarily for the OEM automotive and HVAC testing markets.
Main Responsibilities Include
Reads and comprehends process flow schematics
Cuts, mounts, and connects process piping
Uses basic power and hand tools to build equipment including mounting components
Screws, bolts, rivets, solders, and brazes parts to assemble structural and functional systems
Works with production and engineering teams to ensure system specifications are met
Lifts or hoists and aligns components into position
Fills process loops with specified gases or fluids
Cuts, threads, and connects pipe to functional components and water or power system on premises
Insulates piping, heaters, various other system components
High school diploma or equivalent
Universal EPA certification for refrigerant work
Experience with steam, black iron, stainless, brass, and PVC piping, pipe fitting and soft, silver soldering and brazing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of industrial process mechanical systems
Mechanical inclination and a willingness to grow and learn. The ability to work independently, with direction, and in groups.
This position is located in a manufacturing environment and will involve hands-on work with tools and testing equipment. Physical activity will include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
