Position Description:Join Urban’s successful Rail & Transit Division and work on exciting, fast-paced, multidisciplinary infrastructure and facility projects for freight and passenger railroad clients. In a project management capacity, candidate will plan, develop, and coordinate the design of a wide variety of facilities and infrastructure projects. Work requires a broad knowledge in a specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related disciplines. Areas of focus may include civil, track, traction power systems, signaling and train control systems, stations, shops, yards, structures, operations planning and analysis. Candidate will be responsible for managing project activities to achieve time, cost & quality performance objectives. Candidate will also lead and assist in business development activities including identification and evaluation of project opportunities, definition of scope, schedules, and budgets, and proposal writing. An enthusiastic attitude, with the ability to handle multiple projects with different clients, and taking on increased responsibilities is a must. This role will oversee junior level staff and also assist in staff development.
Job Requirements:Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline and be a registered PE. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years in project planning and design of major capital projects, including at least 5 years in transportation (preferably rail and transit environment). Candidate will be required to travel up to 25% of the time. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
