Position Description :

Patient Financial Advocate - PreService

The Patient Financial Advocate serves to assist all scheduled CPUP and HUP outpatient patients, assess and ultimately resolve their financial situations, prior to receiving treatment, especially those who are uninsured, underinsured and have low incomes. This includes establishing payment plans and other financial arrangements, determining patient’s eligibility for Medical Assistance and Hospital Sponsored Financial Assistance, and collecting patient’s remaining estimated balances at point of service, to ensure timely payment for services rendered.

Minimum Requirements :

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Related field preferred or equivalent experience (5-10 years). Previous experience within a Hospital Revenue Cycle Department preferred. Knowledge of State and Federal Financial Assistance Programs preferred, experience discussing and resolving financial situations with patient and/or patient guarantor, strong confidence discussing and collections of patient payments.
