Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Administrator I, for the Division of Statewide Initiatives at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

The Program Administrator I is responsible for the overall administration of the ScreenNJ program.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Responsible for proactive day-to-day oversight and management of ScreenNJ. Manages ScreenNJ staff to ensure the timely and accurate performance of essential responsibilities.

  • Acts as primary liaison between the cancer center and state wide partners for ScreenNJ including processing the submission of purchasing agreements and business associate agreements, including interfacing with CINJ Finance and Rutgers Purchasing.

  • Oversees all program activities including managing the monthly calls/meetings for each screening initiative, annual retreats, and CCSG annual reporting.

  • Identifies program deficiencies and brings Cancer Institute of New Jersey resources to assist in correcting such deficiencies.

  • Acts as primary liaison with Cancer Institute of New Jersey finance and other administration departments and all external partners (health systems, FQHCs, primary care offices, etc.) in all aspects of the ScreenNJ program.

  • Acts as a primary liaison for the cancer center director on personnel matters including hiring process for staff, staff evaluations, separations, leave paperwork, accommodations and performance management.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience public health or health services.

  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and people simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
