As an Application Development Analyst you’ll work as part of a development team to support one or more business units on the implementation, development and maintenance of new or modified business applications. You’ll be responsible for data analysis, ETL development, customer interfacing and data modeling. Your experience with Java, SQL, Netezza, Oracle Retail, MicroStrategy and QuantiSense or RDW will be key to successfully supporting your business partners. Your attention to detail will allow you to identify and anticipate challenges, test and analyze results to stay informed about the state of all programs and applications, and work to identify the best solutions that will allow for seamless use of all necessary applications. You will be critical in helping the company successfully execute daily business operations so all associates can work effectively and efficiently with all tools they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with the users to gather requirements for modifications to existing applications or development of new applications.

  • Create functional and technical documents as appropriate for the project.

  • Design efficient technical solutions to meet customer goals.

  • Develop code that complies with the standards set by the SDLC and test code to ensure quality of developed applications.

  • Write test cases, coordinate user acceptance testing and ensure quality of applications.

  • Coordinates application implementation and monitors performance.

  • Train users to use applications effectively.

  • Perform the day-to-day monitoring, ensure adherence to SLAs for system availability.

  • Assist users to solve operating problems and improve current processes.

  • Contribute to system upgrades and patch updates to Merchandising Systems.

  • Worksclosely with business partners and 3rd party software solutions providers to implement new solutions and resolve production issues.

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC processes and SOX / Change Management policies.

  • Attend training and keep up with the advancement in technology and new methodologies.

  • Cross-training of different functions within Merchandising Development.

Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field , as well as 7+ years of SQL experience and 3+ years working with intelligence reporting and analytics. Experience with Netezza, QuantiSense RDW, Oracle Retail, MicroStrategy required. Experience with Java development preferred.
